Cryptologic Extends Relationship With Marvel

Spider-Man, Hulk, X-Men and other heroes extend their stay with CryptoLogic to 2013

June 22, 2009 (Dublin, IRELAND) -- CryptoLogic Limited, a world leader in Internet casino and branded gaming software, today announced the extension of its exclusive licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment, Inc., a relationship that has produced some of the company’s most popular and profitable games.

Under the agreement, CryptoLogic retains its rights as the exclusive worldwide developer of Internet casino games based on Marvel’s characters as they appear in the comic books through 2013. This is the third time CryptoLogic has extended its very successful licensing agreement with Marvel.

“CryptoLogic’s exclusive partnership with Marvel has been daringly different for our industry – as together we have brought some of the world’s favourite characters to the world’s top Internet casinos,” said Brian Hadfield, CryptoLogic’s President and CEO. “It’s exciting to extend a deal that has been mutually successful and profitable, and to strengthen CryptoLogic’s competitive advantage in the branded gaming space. We look forward to working with Marvel to deliver an even more compelling experience for every player, every day.”

According to Simon Philips, President, Worldwide Consumer Products for Marvel Entertainment, “We are very pleased to be extending our relationship with CryptoLogic. They have proven they are able to translate Marvel’s world renowned Super Heroes into hugely successful Internet casino games and we are confident they will continue to fully leverage these properties on a global level."

Since 2005, CryptoLogic has launched more than 17 slot games featuring classic Marvel Super Heroes — including Spider-Man, the Hulk, X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Blade, Sub-Mariner, the Punisher and others — at some of the world’s most popular Internet casinos.

Boasting more than 280 games, CryptoLogic has one of the most comprehensive casino suites on the Internet today, with games featuring some of the world’s most famous action and entertainment characters. CryptoLogic has earned rave reviews from industry peers and players alike, and in 2009 earned Gambling Online Magazine’s Top Casino Software award for the fourth consecutive year. Based on the votes of players around the world, it is widely considered the industry’s top honour.

“CryptoLogic is committed to building on this great partnership by delivering even more blockbuster entertainment with Marvel in the years to come,” added Justin Thouin, CryptoLogic’s Vice President.

Party Casino to Get Cryptologic Online Casino Games
23rd October 2008

The online gaming software provider Cryptologic and the online casino PartyCasino have entered into a five-year licensing agreement through which Cryptologic will offer some of its best branded games to PartyGaming.

In the arrangement worked out six Cryptologic online slots games will be available on the PartyCasino site in early 2009. The agreement provides for adding more games at subsequent dates. The agreement was entered through WagerLogic, a subsidiary of Cryptologic that licenses and services Cryptologic software, and PartyGaming the parent operator of the “Party” brand of gambling portals such as PartyCasino, PartyPoker and PartyBets.

The six online casino games chosen by PartyCasino cover four brands with which Cryptologic has partnership arrangements. Three of the games are from the Marvel brand in which Cryptologic has tied up with Marvel Comics to produce online slots games based on the latter’s super heroes. These three games are The Fantastic Four, Hulk, and Spider-Man, all of which are extremely popular with online slots players.

The other three games are Bejeweled, Cubis, and Street Fighter that have their separate branding agreements. Bejeweled and Cubis are from the Casual Game series of Cryptologic, whereas Street Fighter has an action-based theme like the Marvel slots.

Brian Hadfield, President and Chief Executive Officer for CryptoLogic, called this agreement as “one of Cryptologic’s biggest customer wins of the year”. He also added that this agreement vindicated Cryptologic’s strategy of developing branded games. This is indeed true because PartyCasino is Cryptologic’s ninth new customer this year. The others involve big names like 888.com, Sky Betting, Gaming Media Group and Maharajah Club.

PartyCasino, like 888.com, currently operates using proprietary software and will integrate the new Cryptologic games into its system.

Jim Ryan, Chief Executive Officer for PartyGaming, was equally ecstatic at the alliance of “two of the biggest names in Internet gaming”.

This agreement is in consonance with PartyGaming’s strategy to broaden its product base through innovative alliances. PartyGaming has tied up with StudioCanal for the development of online slot games based on Hollywood movies like The Terminator and Rambo. Other movie-based fare offered at PartyCasino includes Mission: Impossible, The Godfather and Saturday Night Fever.

CryptoLogic Partners With Betfair

27th April 2009

Leading online casino software developer CryptoLogic Limited has signed a multi-year agreement that will see it provide a minimum of ten of its most popular slot titles to Betfair, one of the world’s largest virtual betting communities.

The deal covers both branded and non-branded Cryptologicslot titles with the first batch of five due to be delivered for Betfair’s two million customers before the end of the second quarter of this year.

Dublin-based CryptoLogic stated that the remaining games would follow in the third and fourth quarters of 2009 and be made available to Betfair through Orbis Technology’s Fixed Odds Games platform. Cryptologic signed a deal with Orbis in December as part of a strategy of expanding its channels into the Internet gaming market.

“CryptoLogic’s new relationship with Betfair is excellent proof of the potential of our ‘build once, license often’ business strategy,” said Brian Hadfield, President and Chief Executive Officer for CryptoLogic.

“CryptoLogic’s branded slot games are both popular and profitable and, today, that leads yet another top global gaming brand to join CryptoLogic’s growing list of customers.”

Since pioneering the first successful online betting exchange in 2000, Betfair has grown to process more than six million transactions a day and enables customers to choose their own odds and bet even after an event has started. The company’s portfolio includes casino and exchange games alongside poker and it is also highly accomplished in signature platform development and exchange technology having launched three applications, Betfair Poker, Tradefair and Betfair Predicts.

“Betfair is excited to make CryptoLogic’s casino games available to our two million registered customers,” said Albert Tapper, Head Of Arcade And Exchange Games for Betfair.

“Betfair is all about offering customers unprecedented choice, value and control and CryptoLogic’s market-leading slot games will add to that experience.”

Betfair revealed that the ten new titles would sit alongside the 75 already in its BetfairArcade.com site. This Malta-licensed site pays out over seven million pounds each week in winnings and was developed in partnership with Orbis.

“This deal strengthens CryptoLogic’s leadership in slot games and illustrates why we’re the partner of choice for so many of the world’s largest gaming operators,” said Justin Thouin, Vice-President for CryptoLogic.
