Jamilla DeVille

Jamilla is a professional dancer. She has danced for much of her life, starting with classical ballet and later jazz ballet, and African dance (also called African Ballet).

She has also trained in trapeze, corde lisse (aerial rope) and tissue (aerial silks) and continues to train in the latter to this day. She was one of the aerial performers at the opening of the Olympics in Sydney in 2000, and also performed corde lisse (rope) at the Synergy & Chaos III National Circus and Theatre Conference at the Brisbane Powerhouse.

Around the same time Jamilla became an exotic dancer. Using many skills she had already developed through her aerial training, Jamilla transferred her knowledge from trapeze and tissue to pole dancing.

Within the space of a few years, Jamilla became one of Sydney's leading pole dancers, working at first in Sydney but also touring the country, featuring as a showgirl and star of pole dancing in some of the biggest and best clubs in Australia: Crazy Horse in Adelaide, Men’s Gallery Melbourne, and Club International in Cairns.

Jamilla was the first dancer ever to win the title of Miss Pole Dance Australia. With that title she has been invited to perform pole dancing in Europe as well as the finest clubs in Australia.

Since 2005 she has been the face of X-Pole Australia, a world leader in dance pole technology and sponsor of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Jamilla is now one of Australia's leading pole dance instructors and performer.
